Got my Mission Call!!!!!

I got my mission call!!!!!! I was so nervous and anxious to receive my mission call and I finally got it on Friday October 25, 2013. The funny thing is, is that I had no idea I got my mission call on Friday.. My family spotted it Friday night in the mailbox and I had no idea it was in there. On Saturday, we were getting ready for the Trunk or Treat at the church. My sister and my dad kept saying " its a big day today" and " We know something that you don't". I had no idea what was going on?! My family was acting completely weird on Saturday I thought, but I kept going on with my day. As we pulled up in our driveway after Trunk or Treat my mom asked me to go check the mail to see if my sister's( Brittany) box came for her birthday. So I walked to get my "sisters birthday box" HA!! As I was walking up to the mailbox I was wondering if something was in there for me, it never hit me that it could possibly be my mission call! So I opened the Mailbox and saw a huge freaking envelope and on the top left hand corner it said " The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" I was like..no freaking way.... this can't be.. and I saw my name in the middle of the envelope. I was in shock!!! My mission call came so fast! It only took 12 days for me to get my mission call. So I walked into the house in shock and started jumping up and down and screaming! Everyone then told me they all knew and tried to figure out when for me to find out! Haha it was so hilarious. So of course I wanted to open it right away, but my mom told me I needed to wait for my brother to get back from work. So, 2 hours later....... ( felt like eternity) my brother walked through the door. Immediately we all sat down and I opened up my mission call and It read..

" Dear Sister Judd:

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Jamaica Kingston Mission!!!!!!!!!! "

I was so excited when I found out that I was assigned to the Jamaica Kingston Mission! My mission covers the Bahama Islands, Guantanamo, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and ofcourse Jamaica. It is so perfect and I can not wait to share the gospel with the wonderful people of Jamaica and the other Islands that I may be transferring to. It is such a privilege to be called to the work and am very excited to serve My Savior.

I will report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, March 12, 2014.

Papers are turned in!

When I barely turned 18, I decided to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints after a conference I had heard from our Modern Day Prophet, Thomas S. Monson who had given an announcement to all of us about Missionaries. He started off with the Age Changes starting with the boys which changed to age 18, to the girls which ages changed to 19. As I heard that announcement I was in shock like most people were when they heard that announcement. I had felt an overwhelming feeling I had never experienced in my life before. I knew that after I had heard that announcement, that serving my Savior is what I needed to do after I graduated High School. I knew this is what I needed to do through the Holy Ghost. So I got my life together, graduated High School and started preparing for my mission.

On Sunday,  I went into church and had planned on making an appointment with my Bishop (President Moynihan) that day. Before I did, he had found me coming out of Relief Society and said he needed to talk to me. I told him "well this is perfect, I was going to ask to meet with you anyway about something." So I sat down and he asked me, "well how about you go first, what did you need to meet with me about?" I then told him that I want to serve a mission. I then asked him what I needed to do to actually get me to that point of me serving. He then gave me instructions on what to do. After he gave me my instructions he then gave me a calling ( I knew that was coming) but it turned out to be a good calling for me at this time. I sing with the Nursery kids every Sunday. After church I then went home and started my paperwork immediately. I got my check ups from the Dentist and the Doctor ( who by the way goes to church with me),  had my interview with President Moynihan and soon after that, President Slaughter who is the mission president. It felt like it took forever to get all the things I needed to get done for my papers to finally get turned in. I have been waiting for this moment for so long. My papers have finally been turned in and in 3 weeks I should be getting my mission call. I am nervous but so excited. I can't wait to know where I am going to serve my mission. I know wherever I go, it will be amazing because my Savior knows where I need to go to help out those who are in need of the gospel. I am honored to be called to the work. I keep reminding myself " Its not where you serve, but how you serve."
