6th Transfer: Week 2 ~ International Service Day!!

The sky looked really cool
on Halloween night
Hello my family!!!

So, I want to just say thank you so much Mom and Lauren for my amazing Halloween box!! We were all so excited to get it. I gave everyone their Halloween bag and we all shared the sweets! Everything in the box was perfect! No melted chocolate or anything. We had a blast! When Sister Oman saw the ghosts she chuckled and said "I think Lauren had fun making the ghosts" I even chuckled. I thought it was so cute!! Tell her it was an amazing job! Also tell her thank you so much for her decorations and her little project she gave to

me. It is amazing! Although, I don't know where to put them... and I would hate to throw them away so I guess I will be carrying them for the rest of my mission (which will be cute haha). I will try to decorate Lauren a little page with the things that I find here in the Bahamas. I think she would love that so I will do that for her :) Sister Bailey, Sister Oman, and Sister Dill all just love you! You really made our Halloween night! Thank you again Mom and Lauren.

Okay, so to start off my e-mail for the week...the work here is going great! I absolutely love the members of the church in this little branch. I love them too death!! We are all just one big happy family. Even us 4 sisters here. We are just family. I am going to be soooooo very sad to leave Nassau.

My second family here in the Bahamas, Sister Reid and Kempst, are having us over for Thanksgiving! They asked me what I want to have for dinner because they want to make us the things that we miss. I requested mashed potatoes and gravy.
Lisa, Dre and Sister Oman.
I love this picture! It's absolutely priceless!
I haven't had mashed potatoes in a very long time!! You're going to think that is a weird request. Kempst just laughed at me!! and said, "Man, you should have just come sooner and we would have given you some." LOL!! but its true. I just love them and I feel at home when I am there. I am sure I sent you a picture of our family home evening one night. We played Jenga.

We don't have any baptisms for now.. for the near future.. who knows? People can change. It just depends on if they will let the Lord in their lives or not. It's just our job to teach. I feel like I am just a seed planter out here on my mission so far. But I won't get discouraged. Planting the seeds is also a very hard job and I know the Lord is happy with what I am doing. But as a missionary you just hope to see more but I can't always look at that. I am glad to teach our investigators...we really try to get them to church. Its just mostly their desire is not there but we will be working hard with them this week. It's just they all work all day every day! Oh well....hopefully some day they will get baptized :) Here are our investigators....we are still teaching Fabiola and Diane(they are friends), Ann, and Kevin (who is a taxi driver). We saw Kevin show up to church yesterday because he brought tourists! He has definitely been put in our path so many times. We have been trying to see him for

a while but being a taxi driver, he is so busy. He's always on the go.. no break. We have been trying to get in contact with Jerome and we have been teaching Beverly. She is a referral from Andrew. So we have been seeing her and she seems very interested! So the work here is definitely hastening. It's going great.

By the way guess what?!! We have 2 sets of Sister Training Leaders now in this mission. We have 2 Sister Training Leaders in Boulevard, Kingston and the other 2 STL'S are in Mandeville. They each cover one side of the island.
Me and Sister Dill are matching
so we needed a picture:)

As you know Nov. 1st was International SERVICE DAY!! WHOOP WHOOP! So our service project was going over to the nursing home to repaint (and to pretty much remodel) the whole building outside and inside. We did so much good on that day!! and I did not want the day to end. It was the best day and the happiest I have seen myself and the whole branch! We all just became so close! It was sooooo much fun I wish I could do that every day! As I looked at us coming together to help those in need, I thought about how todays' technology keeps us inside (not doing anything) when we could be out doing so much! Like
helping so many people in this world! It truly
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE DAY!!
brought us happiness! It was an amazing day. I figured out that the reason I was so happy was because we all came together as Latter Day Saints and served others just as the Savior did when he was here on the earth. What a great example He was. I love him very much and am thankful for His example. Because of that we know what we need to do in this horrible world to one day return to live in our Heavenly Fathers presence again. Sometimes we get caught up in the world when really we need to take a step back, read the scriptures and do wholesome things that will truly bring us and our families happiness. We even had a little old man show up to church yesterday from the nursing home. It was so fun :)

Me and Juju! She is ready to paint!
One of my favorite parables in the New Testament is when the rich man comes to Jesus and says "I have been keeping the commandments what else do I need to do to gain eternal life?" and the Savior looks at him and says (paraphrasing), "sell all that you have and give to the needy then you will be able to enter in the kingdom with my Father". The man was very sad because he didn't want to give up his worldly things. We need to realize that if we do, we will receive so much more happiness in the world to come. And for that... I will give up all that I have and help others. That brings me happiness anyway!! Even more happiness will come when I get to be with my

President's wife. We were really
working hard!:)
Savior and my Father in Heaven! So as long as we serve others and show others that we care for them, and be more like our Savior, we will find happiness!

Well my family and mom our time is up. The sisters are here to take us to go out to the pirate museum. I LOVE YOU MOM AND MY FAMILY !!! TAKE CAREEE AND thanks for sending the halloween pictures it was so fun to see!!!

MORE PICTURES OF OUR SERVICE DAY!

The young men wanted to be in my picture too!! They came running and I told them lets do a "thug" face. So we all had fun in this picture! Let me tell you something about these amazing young men here. Every young man that you see in this picture are my greatest friends. They are the only church member in their families. They are stalwart...even preparing themselves for one day to serve a mission and they are great examples to their friends. They fellowship so many other young men their age and because of them, many other young men are wanting to be baptized. It's so wonderful to see them pass the sacrament each and every Sunday. Even though they are the only members in their family they make the effort to not miss a Sunday.

Us girls relaxing after painting! The woman to the right of me is Sister Saintil! I am good friends with her. Her brother is Ruben who just left for his mission.
