| Here we are at Sylvia's place teaching her the gospel! |
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
So, hopefully we will be able to talk today! Cross your fingers. Well I don't want to take too much time writing what has happened with me because I just want to have a conversation with my mom and know how everyone is doing. But this is all that has happened this week. It has been a very good week thus far.
--> So we passed by and I saw Johnny Depp again. It's so crazy how this guy looks like a perfect mix between Johnny Depp and Bob Marley. Hopefully we can give him a pamphlet some time.
---> Kevin won't be baptized Feb. 14th. We will need to push that back a little bit. He said he needs to make changes in his life in order to be ready for baptism. So I am excited for him. He will be baptized. Jerome is so active. He will be the next branch president some day I tell you. He went up there yesterday to bear his testimony. He mentioned me and Sister Dill concerning missionary work and that was wonderful to hear. Almost made me tear up a bit. Jerome also comes out teaching with us. He is great.

--> We found 6 potential investigators this week which has been great. The Lord has pushed up our goals for the mission so we are trying to find more people to teach. We need to teach as much as we can.
--> Sister Mouritsen and I have been listening to her CD's lately and there is this song that we always laugh at. I can't even describe what it sounds like but I will try. It sounds like a bunch of angels singing but you don't know what they are saying. Every time we hear that song we describe what we picture in our minds as we listen to it. We had a perfect mixture of a scene with a waterfall, flamingos, dancing ballerinas, river dolphins jumping up out of the water, a women crying over her man floating away on a boat into the waterfall. And of course in this scene, there has to be a rainbow. It was pretty funny.
--> Also I made a great friend yesterday at church his name is Thomas. He is 22 years old and is a Mennonite. When he was 7 his mom gave him to a Mennonite family. When I say a friend I mean he literally is my new friend. We exchanged e-mails so we could keep in touch. Everyone knows him. He was living in Pennsylvania, but he now lives in Andros (another island in the Bahamas). He joined our church when he came back to Nassau for a little bit. The missionaries taught him and he ended up getting baptized. But obviously, everything was so different for him. The culture was different and he just couldn't take it so he went back to the life he was used to. We had a really nice conversation concerning what a Mennonite is all about. He told me how they can't date until they are 18. He also said that if a guy wants to date a girl, they have to think about her for 6 months and then ask their parents about her. If the young man hears good things about her then he goes to her ministry and asks them about her. If he hears all good things, then he sends her an invitation in the form of a letter. These girls literally have no idea that this guy likes her because they don't talk to them. They are not allowed to have conversations with females. Then if she accepts his invitation, they sit with a space between them and have a prophetic conversation. If they decide to get married, then that's when they can sit closer together. They don't believe in breaking up or divorces so the girls HAVE TO REALLY think about who they accept to date. If they break up with a man, then the other guys don't want to take a chance. They just assume something is wrong with her. He told me "I am not even supposed to be talking to you because your a female." and I said, "Oh OOPS MY BAD". He just laughed and said "its okay though. If I was uncomfortable I would have not stayed here with you guys." It was a great conversation. We went over to Sister Saintil's house after church and come to find out he is Sister Saintil's cousin!
--> We had Family Home Evening with the Sinea Family which was amazing. They live in the Haitian village (Elder Sineas family). Last night after our family home evening with them, Francesca (she is my age) told us that she wants to start taking lessons again. She wants to make a change in her life. TALK ABOUT THE BLESSINGS. I just love that girl. By having family home evening with them and showing them how much we care for them, they ease their way back into the fold. I am excited to teach her it will be great.
---> For P-day today, me and sister Mouritsen will be playing basketball with the guys of the Sinea family. Francesca is going to be there to. So it should be funn!
I turn 11 months this Thursday tooo!! 7 months to go. Say whhhattt?! Mannn that is going to go by fast. Transfers are in 2 weeks. We get calls next Saturday so we will see where I'm going. It is kind of nerve wracking! I predict I am either going to Montego Bay or Linstead. Montego Bay would be soo cool. They actually just put sisters there. There are only 3 sisters there right now, but 2 of them will be leaving to go home this transfer. It's a big possibility I will get sent there with Sister Schwendimen, my MTC companion. She is the only one that won't be leaving there. That would be way cool.
Well, I love you very very much and tell the family I love them too. Have a great healthy and safe week!! I LOVE YOU ALL!! til next monday. :)
Love, Sis Judd
